Works from the EDP Foundation Art Collection return to Vila Nova da Barquinha with the exhibition "Drawing. Revelation."
From 12 July to 20 September 2025, Galeria do Parque, in Vila Nova da Barquinha, is hosting the exhibition ‘Drawing. Revelation.’, featuring 57 works by 17 Portuguese artists from the EDP Foundation Art Collection. Organised by Margarida Almeida Chantre, curator of the collection of Portuguese art at MAAT, this display maps out a journey through the multiple possibilities of the practice of contemporary drawing.
Following the presentation, in 2024, of the exhibition ‘PAINTING. PROVOCATION.’, this is the second exhibition under the three-year protocol between the EDP Foundation and the Municipal Council of Vila Nova da Barquinha to hold an annual exhibition of the EDP Foundation Art Collection at Galeria do Parque.
The exhibition brings together artists including Helena Almeida, Miguel Branco, Daniel Barroca, Francisco Queirós, Ana Hatherly, António Sena, Rosário Rebello de Andrade, Maria Capelo, Paulo Brighenti, Fernando Calhau, Diogo Pimentão, Pedro Gomes, Gabriela Albergaria, Carlos Bunga, José Barrias, Jorge Queiroz and Rui Serra, presenting audiences with a plural and sensitive perspective on drawing as gesture, thought and revelation.
The Almourol Contemporary Sculpture Park opened to the public in 2012, with the EDP Foundation collaborating on an ongoing basis in curating exhibitions in the Sculpture Park's Gallery, selecting artists for Summer Residencies, and including local civil parishes into the EDP Foundation Public Art Programme.
