The seascape both seduces and overwhelms us with scenarios of ecological catastrophe. Over Flow, by Tadashi Kawamata, compels us to submerge our conscience in an environment of debris, waste and history, inviting us to pause and reflect. The environment in this installation evokes other dimensions of territory, thought, and the plight of our natural resources. In forming spatial and thematic relationships with the other exhibitions in the MAAT, we take a deep breath before a cautionary dive into the immensity of sea and what we put in it.
