4Cs LISBON CONFERENCE CONVIVIALITY AND THE INSTITUTIONAL

Conference within Tension & Conflit: Video Art after 2008, coordinated by Universidade Católica Portuguesa.

 

This two-day conference will present a series of institutional practices geared towards establishing ongoing work with local communities who are facing conflict situations. The aim of this conference is to reflect on and encourage more work and research on the role of cultural and art institutions in conflict and post-conflict situations.

Ariel Caine – Forensic Architecture/Goldsmiths (UK);

On December 5th, the conference continues at Universidade Católica Portuguesa with the participation of the following speakers:  João Ribas – Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art (PT);  Michaela Crimmin – Royal College of Art (UK);  Jonas Staal – Artist (NL); Miguel Amado (Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art (UK); Katerina Gregos – 1st Riga Biennial Chief Curator (LV).
