The exhibition Pedro Casqueiro – Detour features around 80 paintings by artist Pedro Casqueiro (Lisbon, 1959), produced between the 1980s and 2024, in a career marked by the energy of color, the intersection between figuration and non-figuration, the intervention of the written word, and a permanent irony in the face of reality.

Exhibition tours at MAAT do not aim to provide ready answers as to what art and a museum space should be, but rather seek to provide an informal space for experimentation which promotes knowledge and dialogue, a shared responsibility which encourages the visitor to take on an active role.
