Rui Moreira and João Pinharanda invite the museum's public to walk through the Transe exhibition with them. Among the more than 80 drawings and paintings on display at MAAT, we find a meticulous and strong body of work, full of meaning and narratives, hidden references to cinema, literature, erudite and popular culture, produced through deep processes of resistance, which put time, slowness and persistence back in a precise place. Although, as João Pinharanda says, “Rui Moreira's images almost replace the descriptive and interpretative word”, the experience of visiting with the artist and curator completes the experience of the exhibition, contributing to the existential quality of time, which Rui Moreira tirelessly seeks to find.
