1,2,3... Counting our lives
Counting is much more than a simple maths exercise. In truth, behind counting always lies an event – a personal, social or scientific need or a story. For example, counting our steps during the day, or the number of times we sit down in an hour, or the number of text messages we send in the morning or afternoon, or even the number of hours a lamp is switched on in a room in the house by accident are all simple acts of counting but whose information can provide better knowledge of our day-to-day actions and where we can be more efficient. This workshop will teach us the principles of the processes of counting so that afterwards we can create different ways of counting steps, victories and losses in a game, and messages sent and received.
