MAAT CENTRAL – Historic. Iconic. Unique.
Maximum capacity: 160 seated | 250 standing
Overlooking the River Tagus, this 270 m² room features an impressive iron structure with brick cladding and is fully equipped with audiovisual technology.
Maximum capacity: 450 standing
An iconic open-air square by the river, with a central area that accommodates various event formats and stage/set configurations.
Maximum capacity: 80 seated | 150 standing
Featuring natural light and located on the ground floor of the Central Tejo building, this room is often used alongside the Sala dos Geradores. Its original condensers remain the centrepiece.
Maximum capacity: 100 standing
*Only available after the museum closes to the public (19:00) and on Tuesdays.
A true journey through innovation and engineering. With a 16-metre-high ceiling and 350 m² of open space, this venue is ideal for cocktail receptions.
MAAT GALLERY – Contemporary. Original. Fluid.
Capacity: upon request. As this is an exhibition space, there are limitations regarding the type of events permitted.
The largest and most visually striking indoor venue. Spanning 1,000 m², it forms the heart of MAAT Gallery and serves as the main entry point to the building’s interior.

An exceptional outdoor space in Belém with unique views over the Tagus. A perfect location to enjoy the surrounding landscape of this riverside area.

Yes, MAAT can recommend certified suppliers for catering, decoration, technical production, and other services. There is no exclusivity, but we prefer to work with partners who comply with the museum’s technical and heritage requirements.
Yes. Many events take place outside public visiting hours, subject to prior approval and a pre-agreed logistics plan.
Yes, our team can arrange a technical visit to view the available spaces and discuss the specific requirements of your event.
The hire may include certain basic equipment, depending on the space booked. Additional equipment can be hired separately.
MAAT’s spaces are highly versatile and can host:
- Brand activations and product launches
- Conferences, seminars, and corporate breakfasts
- Cultural events such as concerts (with sound limitations), exhibitions, and performances
- Social corporate events such as dinners, cocktail receptions, and gatherings
- Outdoor events such as markets and wellness activities
Due to the historic and architectural nature of MAAT, especially MAAT Central, the following must be considered:
- Sound levels must be limited to 80 dB to protect the century-old structure
- Proper oversight is required for installation and decoration to preserve the site
- Any major alterations to the spaces must receive prior approval
